Tourism should not be compared to industry in Israel. Tourism is being damaged due to this comparison. For example, during the war in Lebanon Warren Buffet invested in the "Iscar" industrial company, while he was visiting in Israel.
In industry the product is not in risk, while in tourism the situation is different. Israel is the "product". But the state of Israel has dealt with both in the same manner, by giving grants. This is not good enough for tourism. Other solutions should be thought of, more creative and innovative solutions. I accept the direction Sheinin has pointed to.
Commenting on Eli Gonen's proposal to establish a marketing authority:
We have enough bureaucracy. We should concentrate on the content and not the tool; we need to concentrate on the essence and not the organization.
