We are at an interesting crossroad. On the threshold of the Iranian threat are the parallel attempts to formulate a peace initiative. The effort is focused on the Palestinian channel, after which, perhaps we will be able to formulate a peace camp to oppose a nuclearizing Iran. This, while Iran is trying to formulate an axis against Israel. Additional phenomena include Hezbollahstan, Hamastan and others.

With the Assistance of an American leadership, we will try to design the Middle East with the help of a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Problems stand in the way of this. The Palestinian Authority controls only half of the territory, while the other half is controlled by the Hamas. Hamastan is strengthening, arming and developing military capabilities against Israel and the Palestinian Authority. In this manner, it is trying to prevent the Palestinian Authority from implementing an agreement with Israel.

When approaching a peace agreement, the main subjects are the Jerusalem question and the refugee issue. On the subject of negotiations with Syria, Syrian demands are not clear. What will they give to Israel in exchange? Is the ruling minority even capable of signing a peace agreement with Israel? There are no real answers to these questions. An additional question is whether a peace agreement with the Palestinians will mobilize the peace camp against Iran?
