Prof. Rafi Melnick Assistant to the President of the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya for Academic Affairs. He is the former Dean of the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy at IDC and Professor of Economics at the IDC’s Arison School of Business. He served as Deputy Director for Research at the Bank of Israel and lectured at various universities including the Hebrew University, Boston University and the University of California, Davis. He is the developer of the Melnick Index – a state of the economy index for the Israeli economy, which is regularly published by the IDC. He is currently Chairman of the Investments Committee of Migdal Ltd. and a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Policy and Strategy at the IDC. He earned his PhD in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
