Silvan Shalom

Silvan Shalom, Former Senior Vice Prime-Minister of the State of Israel.

During an illustrious career as a Member of Knesset (Likud) between 1992 and 2016, Mr. Shalom held a wide number of senior Government and Cabinet portfolios, including serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Finance, Minister of Interior, Minister of National Infrastructure, Energy & Water, as well as Minster of Science and Technology, Minister of Regional Cooperation and Minister of the Development of the Negev and the Galilee.

As one of the most experienced and respected lawmakers in Israel, Mr. Shalom has been closely involved in every facet of Israel’s foreign policy, national security and domestic policy decision making over the last 25 years. That includes driving Israel’s economic growth, strengthening relations with the United States, Europe, Asia and Africa with a focus on the Arab world and served as chief Israeli negotiator in peace talks with the Palestinians.

Since retiring as a Minister and Member of Knesset, Mr. Shalom has been working in the private sector, consulting to International corporations seeking to expand abroad and domestically, representing foreign investors to Israel, as well as advising on Mergers & Acquisitions projects overseas and in Israel across a variety of sectors. Mr. Shalom remains passionately involved in a number of private public diplomacy initiatives supporting the State of Israel in the international community. 

Mr. Shalom is a lawyer, economist and accountant C.P.A (Isr.), holds degrees in Economics (B.A.) and Accounting (C.P.A.) from Ben-Gurion University, as well as a law degree (L.L.B.) and an M.A. in Public Policy from Tel Aviv University.
